Manaaki - to show respect

Manaaki is thoughtfully designed for our four-year-olds, offering a calm, welcoming environment where tamariki feel a strong sense of belonging.

Through play-based learning and supportive routines, we follow ngā tamariki interests, build on their strengths, and encourage growing confidence and independence.

Our learning environment is natural, resource rich and primed for encouraging exploration and learning through inquiry. Tamariki are encouraged to be curious, creative and resilient problem solvers.

We also enjoy regular excursions that connect us with our local community and extend learning beyond the classroom.

We love celebrating individual interests – whether that’s exploring a favourite topic or proudly cheering on the Warriors together! These shared experiences help tamariki feel valued and excited about learning.

Our transition-to-school programme gently prepares tamariki for their next step, building social and emotional competence skills, foundational literacy and numeracy skills, independence, and confidence in group settings.

We work closely with families and local schools to ensure each child feels ready and supported.

Manaaki is a place where four-year-olds grow, explore, and thrive as confident learners.
