Our under 2 tamariki are nurtured across two beautiful nursery spaces, Whakanui and Puawai.

Thoughtfully designed with warmth and care, our nurseries provide calm, safe and welcoming environments filled with aroha, where our youngest learners can feel secure, supported and at home.

With a ratio of one kaiako / teacher to three tamariki, each child receives attentive care and gentle guidance as they explore, grow and develop at their own pace.

To support a smooth and positive transition into Whakanui and Puawai, families are asked to attend a series of pre-settling visits before their child’s official start date. These visits are an important part of helping tamariki build familiarity and confidence within the nursery environment, while giving them time to connect with their kaiako / teachers, explore the space, and become comfortable with the daily routines and rhythms of the day.

Our tamariki are active and curious learners who delight in exploring a rich and engaging curriculum.

Experiences include messy play, physical movement and challenge, waiata, art and creativity, and learning through te ao Māori.

Our beautiful natural outdoor environment invites exploration through undulating terrain, textured pathways and gardens. This supports our tamariki to develop a connection with Papatūānuku / the land and an understanding of kaitiakitanga / caring for our environment.

Within Whakanui and Puawai, each child is supported by a dedicated key teacher who helps guide the settling process as families begin their journey with our centre. Key teachers are responsible for each child’s Learning Journal, documenting their growing cognitive, physical, social and emotional development.

We warmly encourage whānau to contribute to these journals, recognising that families are the first and most important teachers in their child’s lives
