Nestled in the heart of Swannanoa, our preschool embraces the beauty and values of rural life. With outdoor exploration, nature play, and space to roam, our tamariki develop confidence, problem-solving skills, and a deep respect for the world around them.
Nurturing Relationships
Strong relationships are at the centre of everything we do. Our experienced teachers take time to truly know each child, building trust and creating a secure environment where tamariki feel comfortable to express themselves and try new things.
Our vibrant Preschool is designed with our tamariki firmly in mind.
As our tamariki grow in confidence, independence and curiosity, the environments are thoughtfully arranged to reflect ngā tamariki interests and encourage exploration, creativity and problem solving.
Inside, tamariki build, create, imagine and discover. There are puzzles to solve, construction areas to design and build, playdough to shape, and arts and crafts that inspire creativity. Dramatic play areas allow tamariki to use their imaginations, while cosy quiet spaces offer somewhere to relax, read a book, or spend time with friends.
Outside, the adventure continues. Tamariki ride scooters and bikes, explore sand and water play, challenge themselves on the climbing wall, or run and play on our open grass areas.
Surrounded by a beautiful natural environment, our outdoor space encourages tamariki to move, explore and connect with the world around them.
Swannanoa is a place where tamariki learn through play, build friendships, and develop the confidence and skills they need as they grow.
Prepared for School
Our transition-to-school programme supports tamariki to build the skills they need for their next step. Through collaborative learning, self-management skills, and growing independence, we help tamariki leave preschool with confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning.
After having three children in this centre for over eight years… speaks testament to an excellent facility! I honestly couldn’t recommend a better early childhood facility! The portfolios are outstanding – something our family can revisit anytime – better than our photo albums! I will sincerely miss the staff, children and parents when we leaves. Thanks so much ALL of you.

I am amazed at L’s ability to know everyone by name so quickly!
It must be hard putting little ‘part – timers’ at ease. Everyone has done a really good job of not making us (the part time family) and child feel ‘half there’, thank you for the extra effort at being totally inclusive for us – from organisation, emails and admin to teaching, caring and communicating. Can be easy in a big set up for families not there daily to feel missed out – we didn’t feel that way, thank you.
